Hockey is offered to all girls in Primary 5, 6 and 7.  In Waringstown Primary School it is our aim that through teaching the skills of hockey, all girls will gain in ability, enjoyment and in self-confidence.

Hockey in the Primary School Section throughout Northern Ireland is played in 6 a-side teams. Each year Waringstown Primary School produce an A and a B team.  These two teams enjoy taking part in friendly games against local primary schools, the school team also annually participates in the Mid Ulster League and enjoys notable success within this. A prestigious tournament is held annually in Northern Ireland to find the most successful Hockey team.  This is a very popular and challenging competition in which Waringstown Primary School had been crowned as Champions in the Year 2001, 2008 and in 2009.

We prepare our hockey girls from Primary 5 with skill, ability and a good knowledge of hockey so as they are confident to carry this on when they enter into their post primary education.
