Each month we encourage our pupils to walk, scoot or cycle to school. The class with the most active journeys at the end of the month, win the 'Sustrans Active Travel' trophy and prize. The winning class for the month of October was Mrs Carpenter's Primary 4 class. The two Eco Councillors for Primary 4C collected the trophy during our assembly.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in our ‘Big Walk and Wheel’ competition. It was a great to see so many of our children walking, cycling and scooting to school.
Congratulations to Primary 5 Mrs Williamson’ s class for winning the competition. Every child was given a goodie bag filled with Translink merchandise.
We are continuing to take part in ‘The Active Travel’ every month.
Well done also to Primary 6 Mr Brown’s class who won the April competition.

Hello there!
First of all a massive congratulations to all staff, parents and most importantly pupils of Waringstown Primary School for achieving the Sustrans Gold Award. Your hard work over the past four years has really paid off.
The final activity I will be sending out this year is called ‘Routes To School’ and is designed to get you and your family thinking about how they will travel to school in September.
Maybe they have been walking and cycling more and enjoying it or maybe Mum/Dad/Carer will be working from home more and have more flexibility around travelling to and from school.

Well done to P2B for recording the most active travel journeys to and from school for the month of May. As a 'Gold Sustrans' school we actively promote as much active travel as we can and our delighted with how many classes take part in the Interclass Active Travel Competition.
Can P2B hold onto the trophy after May's results?
We are delighted to have received the GOLD SUSTRANS award due to the efforts of pupils, parents and staff in all the active travel initiatives that have taken place over the past two year.
In 2017/18 we received SILVER and before that in 2016/17 we received BRONZE. As a school we have consistently improved in our efforts to encourage and use active travel so thank you all for supporting us with this.
