Eco Achievements

Another successful Bag 2 School collection

A huge thank you for all your donations for our Bag2School collection. The items were collected yesterday and will be making their way to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

The weight of all our collections came to 292.5kgs, which has raised £117.00 for the school. We have been participating in this initiative for four years now and in total have raised £927.24. This money is used by our School Eco Council to purchase things for their work. Items in the past have included water butts, bird boxes and several items for sensory motor activities.

Many thanks indeed for helping us with this unique recycling and fundraising opportunity.

International School Award

We are delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved the International School Award Intermediate Certificate: Developing Internationalism, due mainly to the work completed through our current Erasmus+ Project with schools in Italy, Spain, Finland and Ireland.

Waringstown Primary School Receive 'Best Kept' Awards!

We are delighted to have received two awards at the ‘Best Kept’ Awards ceremony at Stranmillis University College, Belfast. Our Nursery were runners-up in the ‘Tidy School’ preschool category, which is a fantastic achievement as this is their first time entering. Also, one of our P7 pupils was put forward for the 'Best Kept Pupil Achiever Award' due to her work on our School Eco Council and Eco related activities and initiatives over the past number of years. We are delighted to announce that our entrant won this award, which had some very tough competition.

Huge congratulations from all at Waringstown Primary School.

Uniform Sale and Second hand book shop

Thankyou to all those parents who donated uniforms and books for our pop-up shops. We raised £207 pounds from the Uniforms which will be used by the School Eco Council during the next academic year. The surplus uniforms have been bagged up and are ready for our Bag2School recycling event which will take place between Monday 25 November and Tuesday 3 December.

The second hand books raised £50 which has been donated to Habitat for Humanity, a charity who worked with our P5 year group this year, and will again next year.

Thanks again.

P3 Bug Hotel

Our P3s have now created their new 'bug hotel' using reusing pallets that have been left behind from several deliveries. This is now our second bug hotel on the school grounds.

Let's see who or what comes to stay!
