Super League Final.
The girl’s hockey team won their second trophy this season, winning the Super League .
Having topped their league table, they went through to the Super League.
They had convincing wins to become winners of the shield.
A huge congratulations to all the players.
Our whole school assembly celebrated with Mr McCambley's Golden Postcard recipients recently. A special mention goes to Mrs Anderson and all in Primary 6 for exemplary behaviour during their weekly swimming lessons. The instructors have commented on how mannerly Primary 6 are each week. Well done to all!
The children have really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet the author, Ed Wicke. They enjoyed his storytelling sessions and he gave them great advice for writing their own stories. We really enjoyed the message he had for all pupils which was to find an author and books that they enjoyed and have fun reading. P5 pupils also had the opportunity to do some creative writing with Ed and he was really impressed with their imagination and creativity.
This week in Forest School P4 looked at the concept of concentric circles. Some children worked individually whereas others worked in pairs or small groups. They choose a centre point and then used items they found around them to create circular patterns.

As part of our Farm Topic, Primary One went to the village butchers to investigate what meat comes from a pig.
Trader D showed the children various pork cuts including a pig’s ribs, thigh and trotters!
We brought some cocktail sausages back to school to cook and eat – they were delicious!
Thank you Trader D and thank you also to Mr McKittrick who accompanied us on our walk to ensure we crossed the road safely.

P4 had a special Forest School lesson today as they displayed what we do to a group of Stranmillis PGCE Students accompanied by Mrs McClelland. As P4 have been looking at maps in both their 'Life in the Recent Past' and 'Polar Region' topics, it got us talking about birds eye and aerial views. The children, after completing a perimeter walk of the school, had to design an aerial view of the school grounds using only the materials around them.
Each group had a chance to talk about what they made and were questioned by their classmates, encouraging using cross curricular skills and many of the thinking skills and personal capabilities as outlined in the NI Curriculum.
The children also spoke with the visiting students and were great ambassadors for Waringstown Primary School. We're very proud of how well they listened and behaved.

The latest recipients of Mr McCambley's Golden Postcards were delighted with their reward. Our whole school assembly shared their success and congratulated each individual pupil on their achievement. Well done to all!
Primary One have been learning all about 'People Who Help Us'. We were very lucky to get a visit from the Paramedics, Police Officers and Firefighters!
Our Visitors showed us all their special equipment, their uniforms and their vehicles and spoke to us about the different jobs they do to help people.
The children really enjoyed their experiences, some of their highlights include squirting water from the Fire Engine hose, sitting in the back of a real Police Land Rover and going up and down on the Ambulance tail lift!

Mid Ulster Hockey Winners!
The girl’s hockey team headed to Edenvilla to play in the Mid Ulster hockey tournament.
Having played five different teams in their section ,the girls were unbeaten, they had made it to the finals!
It was a tough match against Armstrong, but the girls battled through ,winning 2-1.
They were crowned Mid Ulster champions!
